The Main Library in Downtown Dothan offers patrons the same materials and services offered at the Westgate and Ashford Branches, as well as a few extras. Requested materials are placed in transit every weekday between the Main and Westgate facilities, and every Tuesday and Friday to the Ashford Facility. The library offers a variety of programs throughout the year for children, teens, and adults. Every program presented or sponsored by the library is free of charge.
Stationed in Downtown Dothan, the Main Library acts as a hub for the Westgate, Ashford, and Bookmobile Branches. The new building, opened in early 2014, is a testament and mainstay of the Downtown Dothan revitalization program. Featuring a more access-friendly design, large outside green space, and extensive Local History Room. Visitors with a library card are able to checkout materials from the library, use computers in the designated computer areas, checkout tablets and laptops for in-library use, and more.
